How did we get here?
Jared grew up on a Colorado farm, learning the value of hard work, dedication, and a connection to the land while cultivating fields and tending cattle. With a degree in Agricultural Economics and Marketing, he carried the family farming legacy forward—marrying Jonetta, raising a family, and running a hay harvesting and marketing business.
On rainy hay season days, Jared discovered a new passion: Dutch Oven cooking. Coupled with a lifelong love of hunting, camping, and the outdoors—fostered through adventures with his grandparents and backcountry elk hunts—he realized the best memories were always centered around great food in nature.
Today, whether providing high-quality hay and feed, creating new and innovative culinary products, or crafting unforgettable meals, our mission remains the same: a relentless pursuit of excellence. From cowboy camps and scouting trips to weddings and gatherings, we’ve shared our love of outdoor cooking with thousands across Colorado and the West—and we’re just getting started.

It has long been Jared’s dream to make incredible food more accessible to everyone. That dream has inspired us to share our “Sunshine in a Bottle” — handcrafted products now available in select retail markets.
We believe in being faithful stewards of all that God has entrusted to us. In the outdoors, that means caring for the land to ensure the future of farming and ranching, preserving our food heritage, and exploring new frontiers in food technology and flavor.
Stewardship also means protecting our wildlands — using their resources wisely while conserving places of rest and renewal for both people and wildlife.
In our personal lives, stewardship extends to our finances, time, talents, treasures, and health. We strive to be our best in every area of life so that we can honor God and faithfully care for all He has given us.

One of my all-time favorite memories in the catering business was cooking for the Pheasants Forever event in Holyoke, CO. We ended up burning the chili and, to top it off, the pineapple upside-down cake. Despite the kitchen mishaps, the day was unforgettable—I also went out with my dad and shot my first pheasant. A perfect mix of food, family, and fun in the outdoors!

As the family’s salesman, I’ve always enjoyed talking to people and sparking conversations. Somehow, I always end up talking about our family business—not to promote it, but because it means so much to me. Spending extra time with my parents and siblings, creating lasting memories through the work we do together, is something I will always cherish. This journey has taught me countless valuable life lessons, which I love sharing with others alongside our passion for cooking and family.

Our culinary legend: The Californio seasoning holds a special place in our hearts as it was created for us on our wedding day and has since become a must-have on almost everything we make!

You can never go wrong with Dutch Oven Belle Fourche seasoning paired with the Sweet & Sassy sauce. My personal favorite is the rib recipe–it has the perfect amount of sweetness, comes together easily and turns out unbelievably delicious every time!

The family business brings together all of our family’s traits. Because we all have a different “fun” side that we bring out. Whether it’s doing card tricks for a room of complete strangers or telling a joke to someone as they come thru the food line, we all have a unique way we get to know someone new. That is my favorite part of catering, the new friends and new faces we become close to throughout.

One of my favorite recent memories was catering our children’s weddings. Being able to share the food we’ve lovingly prepared for them throughout their lives brought immense joy. Celebrating these milestones through the dishes that have nourished our family for years made the moments even more meaningful.
Jared
As I reflect on some of my favorite life experiences—camping trips, hunting excursions, and jeeping adventures—what always comes to mind are the memories made preparing and sharing meals. Whether over a crackling campfire or from a Dutch oven, dining at a picnic table or perched on a rock, these moments of conversation under the stars are what linger the longest.
Time spent in God’s wild outdoors is priceless. There’s nothing quite like cooking wild-caught trout over an open flame, or returning to the warmth of a canvas tent after a long ride into elk country, watching snowflakes fall in the darkness outside. Inside, a pot of chili simmers, a cup of hot coffee steams, and the pinewood fire glows in the stove—simple comforts that turn ordinary moments into unforgettable memories.
